In 2011, I got my first experience in entrepreneurship.
After years of coaching football and training athletes, my father decided to
start his own company. The company is called CrossFit MIA and it’s a micro gym in
Miami, Florida. The gym has slowly and steadily has become one of the top CrossFit
gyms in the South Florida area. New members join everyday and the facility continues
to expand every year. I’ve also worked there for 2 years as a staff associate.
From this job, my main responsibilities were scheduling, welcoming, and giving
tours to new members throughout the facility. Additionally, I collaborated and
helped implement marketing campaigns, including promotional materials, social
media campaigns, and assisted in post marketing campaign cost-benefit analysis.
Overall, it’s been a joy to see my fathers company rise from the ground up.
As far
as why I enrolled in ENT3003, to be honest, it’s because I needed it for my
degree. However, the class had my interest anyway as I’ve always been interested
in the entrepreneurship world. From the class, I hope to learn many things to
which can help me once I graduate college. I don’t plan on following my father’s
footsteps as an entrepreneur, however, the lessons learned in the class will be
beneficial in the long run.
